History of the JBH Municipal Swimming Pool

The Cathlamet Pool is a valued community resource with a rich history spanning decades. For generations, the Cathlamet Public Swimming Pool has been part of community life in Cathlamet. Residents have learned to swim, participated in lessons and activities, and created lasting memories at the pool over the years.

While the facility was constructed in 1974, efforts to secure funding and establish a public swimming pool for the community date back to the 1930s, reflecting generations of local commitment and support. Construction of the pool was made possible through a state grant, helping create a recreational and educational space that continues to serve residents and visitors today.
